Texas SH-136 (North)
Full depth new alignment on SH-136 in Texas County.

Scope of Work
J&R completed full-depth construction of a new alignment extending 4.5 miles north from the Texas state line on SH-136 in Texas County, Oklahoma. Crews placed 65,458 tons of asphalt on a $12.4 million contract. The project ran from April 2022 through May 2023, covering two construction seasons.
Full-depth construction on new alignment is a different kind of job than overlay or mill-and-overlay work. It requires grading, subgrade preparation, base course construction, and surface course paving on a route where no existing road provides a reference. J&R handled the full scope from prep through final compaction.
The work is part of a larger ODOT corridor improvement on SH-136 through the Oklahoma panhandle, with J&R completing a second SH-136 section in Guymon under a separate contract.
